Top 20 Seniors: Toni Maestas

By Aaron Ilia Merritt

Anthonia Maestas photoAnthonia Maestas, or as she goes by, Toni, is a hard worker and a good athlete.

She has big dreams, one of which is to be successful in life, which is completely obtainable for her. She puts in a lot of time for sports, and everything else she is passionate about, and is willing to work with a team which is key to success. She is very optimistic, one motto she lives by is “The glass is always half full.”

Her hobbies are sports she has played, activities like riding her bike, photography, and window-shopping on Amazon. She has played basketball and softball, which prove that she loves being on a team and working with others to achieve a common goal.

When looking back on high school she will fondly remember her friendships she had with her fellow students.  Ms. Colestock has influenced Toni the most because she is an amazing woman who makes her students feel like people not just kids in a class.

Toni looks forward to attending Regis University and acquiring her double major in elementary education and psychology. It is good that she wants to double major in two interesting and important fields of study. It says a lot about her character and personality that she wants to be a teacher especially with the current system that is set up against teachers. If she had one wish be granted it would be universal college for students. That would end the financial obstacle that comes with student loans.

If you are good friends with Toni you know you better not chew loud, scream in public places, or stop in the middle of a hallway. That would really bug her. Her pet peeves are anything that is inconsiderate towards others.

Now as a senior Toni has some advice she’d like to leave for her under classmates. Her advice is be yourself. Even though she believes that is unoriginal advice she feels that it is important to be who you are and proud. In high school we are all trying to find ourselves so it is important to enjoy your time being yourself. We at WRHS will miss Toni  Maestas.
