Jack Stringer is as funny as he is deep. A great way to display these two personality traits of Stringer is through his favorite saying “May the outward and inward man be at one” and the fact that the legacy he wants to leave Wheat Ridge High School is a ping pong table in the quad.
A student deserving of this top 20 senior title, Stringer has always put passion into what he does. For all four years he has been a part of this school’s soccer team. His favorite memory was winning league in his senior year. A great influence of Stringer is varsity coach Tony Thomas who has encouraged him to listen to Marilyn Manson and to pursue his dreams and passions.
Another activity he has taken part in is philosophy club with Arik Heim. Stringer credits Heim for providing him with an open-minded train of thought and for helping him “explore the world as an intellectual.”
Aside from the two activities, Stringer has also helped out his community through National Honor Society and Boy Scouts. This year he has also been a key part of The Haystack staff.
A characteristic that one might not know about Stringer is his appreciation for films with Tom Hanks and that his favorite food is raspberries. If he could have one wish he would want the power to fly in order to take an escape from life. His dream for the future is to live a stable life–which includes a job, house and kids—Stringer will know he’s gotten to this point when he, as he says, “drift[s] into a rut.”
This summer he and some classmates will accompany Stephanie Rossi and Heim on a European trip to Greece and Italy. Afterwards, in the following school year, Stringer will be attending American University in Washington D.C. with the intention of double majoring in journalism and statistics.
