On the evening of Oct.18, the humble of zombies invaded downtown Denver for a unique, yet free enjoyable experience this Halloween. This year was the 9th annual Zombie Crawl held in the city.
Starting early at 9a.m, awakened Zombies started their morning of Zombie Crawl for the Organ Trail. The trail was an urban adventure that was part Amazing Race, part Fear Factor, and part haunted house. From 12:00 to 3:55 p.m. there was a Dj, musical performances, games, and more! But wait the fun didn’t just stop there, the Zombie Crawl parade began at 4:00p.m. at Skyline park all through 16th street in Denver and lastly after that the costume contest was to be announced at 5:30p.m. Later the fun continued, Zombies still hung out until closing hours.
The zombie event consisted of many people from the community who gathered up to take part of a creative way to show off their goriest costumes, and those who weren’t dressed up as a zombie were either out running away from zombies or just looking insensible.
The night was a pleasant one; not even the weather was something to whine about. Many people there seemed to enjoy their time. Most of the public were skeptical about coming to the event due to their thought of Zombie Crawl being too “scary” or “dangerous,” and most did show up thinking they were totally going to get spooked, but quite the contrary the night wasn’t too bad as for the zombies out there. So if you missed out on Zombie Crawl this year, make sure to look out next years date where you can spread the zombie virus and join your fellow zombies in the next Zombie Crawl hosted on Oct. of 2015!
