Along with the new renovations to our school for the 2024-2025 year, we see some new faces in our faculty! From our English department to our office, we’re excited to welcome new staff.
English teacher, Brooke Dzara, has a newly renovated classroom. Dzara states how her, “favorite part is that everything is brand new” which leaves room for personality in decor and customization. However, the only thing that isn’t a plus to the renovations is the random door left in the classroom from the previous rooms. Dzara also shares her excitement with getting to know her new students, sharing how she is “egar to get involved in more extracurricular activities to get to know everyone more.” She has taken on coaching of the level four girls’ volleyball team and has expressed interests in arts like musical theatre and choir. She comments on Wheat Ridge’s enthusiastic school culture and pride and how it drew her to the school seeing how students and faculty were all so excited for sporting events, pep rallies, and even their classes. Dzara remarks how she feels “incredibly welcomed by staff and students” and that she is extremely grateful to be here at Wheat Ridge.
Math teacher, Shelby Dean, is excited to work her first-ever teaching job at Wheat Ridge! She student taught in Mississippi but mentions how Wheat Ridge has a more relaxed and less strict atmosphere than her previous school. She mentions how she’s looking forward to attending “football games, and events like prom and homecoming.” She expressed how her room is bigger than she thought it would be and looks forward to using the space to make different areas and groups for her students. The only downside to her new classroom is that it’s on the north-facing side of the math hall so it’s a much warmer temperature than the classrooms around it.
Attendance Secretary, Jordan Stegeman is excited to be working at a smaller school, than her previous job at Standley Lake HS. She enjoys her new desk space in the main office, and particularly loves the garage door style window, that allows her to see the newly built commons area, as well as the changing of the leaves of trees with her outdoor view. Stegeman also states how she loves “the natural sunlight that comes from the new windows” and how excited she is to get to know the other faculty members as well as students.
And on the most important note, Stegeman leaves off with a “Go Farmers!”, which is a great way to start our year.
