The Varsity Girl’s coach, Dean Miller, gave his thoughts of the season so far, “We have had a really good season so far. We have all of our relays qualified for state, as well as two individuals.” When asked who his strongest athletes were on the team he replied with the members, who also make up the relay teams: senior Amy Cazier, juniors Erin Sweeny and Amy Leasure, sophomores Emma Sappey and Lauryn Leslie, and freshman Marina Luna. The team has had a decent bit of competition this season. Miller said, “So far, D’Evelyn and Golden have been the biggest competition for us this season,” To prepare for future meets, Miller said the team will start to taper during practices.
We can all look forward to a continually strong season from the Varsity Girls!
