This year’s Farmer boys basketball team have proven themselves to be a factor throughout the season. Even though they went 8-7 and are ranked fifth in league play, the Farmers have a 15-8 record overall and have cemented themselves into playoff contention.
During the last week of the regular season, the boys went on a little skid, losing to both the Golden Demons and to the Valor Christian Eagles; not a good way to go into the playoffs. Now the Farmers have to take on the Pueblo South Colts, who are 17-6, in a neutral setting game to see if they get to play on and fight for the state championship.
To continue on to play, the Farmers need to utilize their 3-point ability. They have not been using this to their advantage and this is why their record is this way. Whenever we have the ball, we always want to drive up to the basket and try to make a lay-up. However, whenever this happens, our boys on the three-point line are always open and could easily make it.
The Farmers also need to make sure they keep to our game. We like to play fast and keep the other team on their heels. If we can focus in on these two key points, the Farmers will make it far into this years playoffs.
