City of the Dead Haunted House Review

City of the Dead Haunted House Review

    By Isabelle Olson

    It’s cold and raining.

In the distance there is a wailing that sounds like a tornado warning and instantly, I’m scared. City of the Dead is a huge tent, fog coming out of a hole on the side, with all kinds of horrors awaiting you inside.

Before we entered the haunted house, we met Ari Lehman, who played the original Jason from Friday the 13th. He signed autographs for us and took pictures, looking happy to be there experiencing the event.

The line moved quickly to get into the tent, and inside there was yet another longer line. That was nice, for me at least, because it gave me time to wait before I got scared out of my mind. The entire tent was coated in fog, so much that it was hard to see, and people stood in the line, talking with anticipation. While we waited, there were games to play, food for sale, and the first Saw movie playing for people to enjoy, which gave a more mature feeling to the haunted house.

As the guard pulled away the curtain for me to enter into the darkness of the horror, my breath caught in my throat.

I don’t want to give too much away, but let’s just say that it was horribly scary. There were loud bangs, people with chainsaws, an asylum room (which to me was the scariest part and caused me to have to be removed early due to a panic attack) and much more.

The scenery of the location was prime and the makeup/costumes were realistic. If I didn’t get so terrified I’m sure it would have been an amazing, fun time.

I recommend it to anyone who wants the real experience of a haunted house, real enough to make you cry.
